Judge Linda Tucci Teodosio has the
Leadership we need in our Juvenile Court.
Judge Teodosio has been an innovative leader
for our Juvenile Court. Upon taking
the bench, she was quick to recognize the
link between mental illness and involvement
with the juvenile justice system. She
brought together the leaders of the
community, in all areas involving children,
and led a collaborative effort to develop
Crossroads, a nationally recognized program
for court-involved youth with mental health
and/or substance dependence issues.
She was also able to collaborate with the
Summit County Department of Job and Family
Services to develop the Court's Family
Resource Center (FRC). The FRC, long a dream
of Judge Teodosio, gives struggling families
a place to go to learn of community agencies
that can assist to qualifying families
struggling with issues of teen parenthood,
school difficulties, employment needs family
domestic violence and re-entry from
institutional commitment or residential
care.

getting youth back on the right track
through firm and fair decisions.
J
udge Teodosio understands that young
people often make mistakes. She has focused
on developing innovative programs and
creative dispositions that help steer youth
toward responsible decision making with the
goal of making their first court appearance
their last. Judge Teodosio also understands
the importance of holding youth accountable
for their actions. She does not hesitate to
commit a youth to detention or the Ohio
Department of Youth Services (ODYS) if their
offense and behavior so requires. She has
recently become an active member of advisory
committees to the ODYS to become a factor in
making ODYS the rehabilitative body that it
needs to be if youth are to successfully
re-enter our community.
